This is extremely useful for coding / cracking as you can rotate through them preventing the possibility of your User-Agent getting flagged and banned.

Why not just use most popular and most updated useragent?

Because websites expect this and look for it, even though they can't really block a specific User-Agent, they can flag it (upping your risk score) and block specific combinations like ip+headers, etc.
